The Utah Utes are in the midst of an exciting transition as Morgan Scalley takes charge of his first recruiting class as head coach. Known for his talent evaluation skills, Scalley has shifted from his previous roles as safeties coach and defensive coordinator to overseeing the entire program. He has brought in Joe D’Orazio from USC as the general manager and retained Mason Yellico as the director of player personnel to strengthen the recruiting efforts. Scalley emphasizes the importance of building relationships with recruits and their families, ensuring they feel valued and informed about the program. Scalley’s experience in recruiting, particularly in Texas, California, and Utah, positions him well to attract top talent. He believes that continuity within the coaching staff is crucial for player development, noting that only 15 programs have had two coaching changes over the last 22 years.
